Instructions
- Pick a setting where there is almost no movement at all. You need to film a video (5 to 10 seconds) and very steady video with a slight movement of an object and relatively still object. (preferably on a tripod)
- Import the video into Photoshop.
- Pick the shot that you want to stay still and drag the beginning of the clip to where ever you want it. Trim whatever access you have left leaving you with 3 - 5 seconds of footage.
- On the right there should be a layer displaying on the right. Now notice where the new layer button is, click and drag the layer over the button and it should create a second layer.
- On the bottom left there should be a loop back button, and press that to infinitely loop your video.
- Move the beginning of the second layer around the middle of the first. Trim the rest of the second.
- Key frame the opacity from 100 - 0 of the first video near the end so it fades away.
- Then press (Macs: Shift- Option - Command - E) (PC: Ctrl - Alt - Shift - E) and that will create a still image. Trim that down to the length of the other videos.
- Now what you have to do is create a mask over that layer and mask out the parts you want moving. On the bottom right, there will be a mask button, press and drag over the still layer. Press the paint tool on the right. Make sure it is black and paint over the places you want to be moving.
